FAQ

KS3 maths tuition questions.

At what age should a child start maths tuition?

There is no fixed rule. If a child is struggling in class or has lost confidence in maths, it is worth starting as early as possible. Early intervention in KS3 is far easier than catching up in Year 10 or 11.

How are KS3 lessons structured?

Sessions are one hour and follow the student's current school work. Janet identifies where the gaps are in the first couple of sessions, then works systematically through them. Shorter sessions may be available for younger students if needed.

Is KS3 maths tuition available online?

Yes. Online KS3 maths tuition is available for students across the UK, using Zoom and a shared digital whiteboard.

Will KS3 tuition help prepare my child for GCSE?

Yes. The whole point of KS3 tuition is to build the foundations that GCSE sits on. Students who enter Year 10 with secure number, algebra and geometry skills find the GCSE content considerably more manageable.

How much does KS3 maths tuition cost?

KS3 maths tuition is £55 per session. Standard sessions are 50 minutes. There are no block packages or contracts.

Do you tutor students who have lost confidence in maths?

Yes. Many students come to lessons feeling anxious or lacking confidence in maths. Building confidence is an important part of my approach, helping students feel more comfortable tackling new topics and answering questions independently.
